An electronic driving log automatically records trips without manual entry. The user's task is usually only to classify the trip as work or private, which makes everyday life much easier.
The biggest advantage of an electronic driving logbook is its practicality. When the vehicle sets off, the system automatically records the journey. When the journey ends, the user can check the information on the app or service and mark whether it was a business or private journey.
This significantly reduces manual work compared to a traditional driving logbook. The user does not have to write down every departure, destination and mileage by hand, the system does most of the work automatically.
An electronic driving log is especially useful when you have a lot of trips during the day or when your trips are short and frequent. It is in these situations that manual logging can easily be forgotten or become inaccurate.
Even in situations where multiple people use the same vehicle, automatic tracking brings clarity. All trips are recorded in the system in a consistent manner, making tracking and reporting easier.
Although the system automates much of the process, it is usually up to the user to categorize the trip and fill in additional information if necessary. This step is important to make the trip log as useful as possible for reporting and taxation.
An electronic driving logbook does not completely eliminate the user's role, but it makes driving tracking significantly lighter, more accurate, and easier to manage.
